Public tours during the winter season
Since a lot of people have shown interest in guided tours, we also offer themed tours of the zoo every Saturday and Sunday during the winter season.
Depending on the theme, one of the animal carers will present certain types of animal, showing how they interact and how we look after them. Visitors may have an opportunity to feed the animals, depending on the circumstances. These tours are free of charge. The standard entrance prices apply.
Start: 2.15 pm - Duration: approx. 45 minutes
Meeting point: at the play zone
Daily feeding times
Penguin feeding
Every day at 3.30 pm you can watch the penguins being fed.
Please note that Wednesdays are non-feeding days!
For zoological reasons this schedule may change occasionally. We thank you for your understanding.
Book a guided zoo tour
Organisational:
• Reservation: by telephone on +49 (0)4454 / 9113-0 (Mon - Fri 9.00 am - 12.00 pm and 2.00 pm - 4.00 pm) at least 14 days in advance.
• Group sizes: in order to provide the best experience, groups should be no larger than 25 persons.
• Costs: In addition to the entrance fee, a fee of 52 euros is payable per group.
• The animals visited are determined by the park and decisions are made based upon the zoological situation.
Petting and caring for the animals
We are often asked whether it is possible to purchase gift vouchers for various occasions to pet, feed or take care of various wild animal species.
Unfortunately, the answer to this question is "No".
We offer opportunities for close contact where possible through public displays and guided tours. We are unable to offer further opportunities for many reasons (animal health, hygiene, safety).
Thank you for your understanding!
